(My Halloween costume from a couple of years back, I was Velma)

One of my Favorite months is here. OCTOBER. If you know me at all I am a Halloween FREAK. I love everything HALLOWEEN. 13 NIGHTS OF HALLOWEEN on ABC Family, Costumes, Decor, The weather, Hay Rides, and Pumpkin Patches.

I found this really fun Blog that shows you how to make awesome crafts, and this really fun Halloween wreath.

I also found this fun video from our favorite girls over at Food Network of cute and TASTY little treats to make this Fall Season.

Last but not least, I think I may have found Truman a Halloween costume. I think I am going to make him a PARTY ANIMAL. My idea is to take a empty 6 pack strap it on his back like a saddle and put a party hat on him. Not sure where is going to show this off at, But I will atleast get a kick out of it.

Fun Adventures in AUGUST

This summer I was very blessed with being able to travel alot, I think bw May and August I took about 9 trips. It was awesome I was able to visit alot with the people I miss the most. Here is our girls night with my best friends from High school.
In August 2 of my besttest friends came here and we took a road trip to the Beautiful, Southern Savannah.
Darrell on the other hand was not able to travel very much he was working and in school the entire summer, he made me very proud with all his hard work and accomplishments. So, he was able to go on one trip with me to Charlotte and It was awesome because we were able to do some much in 2 days!
We went to Jade's first birthday party. Jade is such a little sweetheart she is the first baby for our group of CSU friends which makes her extra special. The boys had tons of fun going down the slip and slide.

SLACKER

I pretty much have abandoned this blog. But, over the past couple of weeks I have had something inside of me that has been wanting to be a blogger girl so badly! Basically my goal for the next couple months is to blog as much interesting stuff as possible and to find other AWESOME bloggers to link up with and share ideas and creativity!

So here is what has been going on in the Brace household since June.

July Highlights:

Tevin (the student we mentor) Darrell and I went on a trip to ORLANDO to celebrate Tevin graduating from HIGH SCHOOL and also to explore the new Harry Potter world! Which is super awesome everyone needs to go!

August:

Was a crazy month 4 of my close friends all had babies, well one is a friend but also my sister so I have earned myself one more sweet little nephew!

September:

We are getting back into our new life routine with Darrell attending MUSC and me working and focusing on my career in the Hair world (which I love more than anything)

HUGE DEALS TONIGHT AT PUBLIX.

I had to share with you all. I have been super slack the past 6 months, because of the new salon, and weddings, and blah blah blah the rat race of life. But, I got back on the coupon train tonight and I couldn't be more STOKED!

I went to PUBLIX and only spent $6.33 on ALL OF THIS. Yes its mostly JUNK food but with all of the food my husband eats, and we always have guests this JUNK comes in handy. I have been on a serious diet (life change) for the past month and I have been working out and eating better so I wont get to enjoy most of it myself but never the less a DEAL is a DEAL!

In other news today is our 2ND wedding anniversary. It is truly hard to believe. We have had a great 2nd year. With big things happening like 2 trips to NYC a 2 times to Baltimore, 3 trips to Charlotte,1 sporting trip to ATL, twice to Myrtle Beach and probably a couple stops in between we love to travel, Darrell's acceptance into MUSC, getting a new pup (HAMI GIRL) and so much more. There has also been major downs in the 2nd year I like to say the terrible 2's ran its course at times as well (just keeping it real) Marriage is definitely not as easy as it looks. But all is on the up and up and we are looking forward to many more!

Sorry for the Lack of posting, as you all know I am a very busy GAL but life has become so so much more busy! I have thrown in to the mix a 2nd dog and operating 2 business WOW, not to mention all the stuff I LOVE doing in my free time! Just a couple updates I made it into Charleston wedding Magazine! Check it out to see my ad! I am hoping the business will take off so much more in 2010 I have also moved salons and am now a independent contractor at Broadway Images which has been very awesome so far! I look forward to seeing all of you in my chair in the near future. As for the spring, We will be taking a trip to Westminster and NYC. Also, I will be taking a couple trips for work and to celebrate 2 friends birthdays coming up.

Many of you have also asked me how weight watchers is going. My goal is to loose 19 1bs. Since starting 1 month ago this Thursday I have lost 6 LBS this diet is awesome you can still eat everything you love but just less! I have really enjoyed it and I know this is something I can stick with. If anyone has any ?'s about the diet or plan feel free to email me. Its not a super quick fix diet I truly believe it is a diet that will keep the weight off for the long haul.

I am looking forward to this summer. Darrell will be starting school at MUSC and plans to go straight through to the nurse practitioner program. It was a BIG accomplishment to be accepted and we are all VERY excited for him!

So here I am. January sort of flew by and left me with little to no posting time. A lot has been going on with the #1 think which is WORK. That has been a lot of time and focus as of late. Also, Darrell started taking some classes at Trident to keep himself going. He has applied at a couple of Masters programs and we are waiting to hear back so you can be praying for that.

Hamilton has started taking classes with the AKC which has been pretty cool and fun, she has learned a lot of neat tricks. A lot of the dogs in her classes are show dogs so its pretty intense but we have no intentions of showing her or breeding her at this point. Truman is doing well also he loves having a little sister, and having someone to play with. His mange has been completely clear since October so that is awesome hopefully it will not come back.

We are still doing lots of couponing. I did a challenge for the month of January which was the $40 eat from the pantry challenge. It went pretty well except for the fact that I have no stockpile like most of the other women who braved the challenge but its ok, we still only spent $75 and that is actually going to get us through to the 7th of February so I am very proud of this feet.

Our plans for the spring are to make one more trek to NYC before mid April & wait on the letters from the schools Darrell applied for. It closed today so anytime now. I am freaking out more than him, but if you know him you could assume just as much.

Last but not least everyone go see "Dear John" it comes out this weekend and our awesome brother Warren helped film the movie look for his name in the credits.

Introducing Hamilton Winslow Brace

Hey everyone my Birthday gift came early. Darrell got me a Morkie! I have been wanting one for sometime but was a little concerned how she would do with our beast Truman. So far so good she is too cute. She was 2.8 LBS and is 8 weeks old. How did we get the name you ask? My husband has this thing with presidential names i.e Truman (our other dogs name) so we always knew the next name we used would be Hamilton it was already a fav of ours and Winslow was after the family on "Family Matters" a favorite show of mine in the 90's still is when I can catch it. Truman Banks Brace was named after the Banks family on "Fresh Prince" I know we are wacky but I crack myself up. She looks like a little teddy bear and is so sweet. Truman is still kind of unsure of her but we are giving him lots of love so he doesn't get left out!

I have slowed down on my coupon blogging a little because I have been so busy. October has been my busiest month for Loose Ends I had weddings every weekend since the middle of September so I have just been rockin' and rollin'. I hope everyone had a great Halloween. I did very well even though I had little time this past month, so it shows no matter how busy you are you can always coupon.

My Publix shopping trip this week was small. I do a large trip every other week. But, I had to go in for these great deals.

Also, always go to Publix with your $5 off a $25 purchase from Rite-Aid they honor them and its a easy way to save!

The only things i purchased this week that I didn't have a coupon for and were not on sale was my 1LB. of shrimp and the bagels.

Also, the penny item this week was Coffee again. We do not drink coffee so what I am doing is putting a box together to donate to the DreamCenter food pantry. I encourage everyone to do the same as the food bank is at a low supply.

The pop tarts were $2.00 there was a Q on the website listed above for $1.00 off there was also a Q in the Sunday paper for $1.00 OFF which made these FREE.

We feed Truman Purina One A 18LB. bag usually last us 3 weeks and cost $21.98 at Wal-Mart. At Target it was priced at $18.88 and we had a $3.00 off Q from the Sunday paper also Target had a $4.00 off Q which saved us $7.00 making the bag $11.88 :)

This is just a idea for a treat to yourself. I went to Target today and got 6 Glade Tins. They were on sale 3/$5. Inside each tin is a $1.50 off coupon. Which will make the tins only $.16 cents. Also, this weeks Sunday in the paper is a $2.00 off purchase of any 2 glade products. I used this and got $1.52 overage.

Now, at Publix I did my large grocery shopping last week so this week I was just picking up AWESOME deals. I got Advance Sealed Crest Whitestrips which are usually $34.99 but are $5.00 off this month with the Publix advantage buy, I also paired it with a $10 off coupon I received in the mail from Proctor and Gamble, and then lastly there was a $7.00 off coupon in the newspaper on 8/30. Which made the Whitestrips only $12.99 AMAZING! I also saved a lot on Clorox wipes (these are great we use them all the time) They were on sale for $1.99 and had a $.50 off coupon on them, then there was a insert in the Publix flyer this week for $.50 off (which we doubled) bringing them to $.50.

The coupon flyer's this Sunday weren't all that great so I am assuming next week will be better.

It does take a little time and planning on your part if you you want to do it, so at first I was a little concerned because I really have very little free time. But, with that said the $$$$ I am saving is going to help me so much in the long run. Today was a awesome day, I did my shopping for 2 weeks, my bill when I was finished was $200 but then I handed the cashier all my coupons and I watched it roll down to $120. It was so awesome! (I would have saved more but I bought Vitamins which were $14)

Ideas for those new to the game:

Every Sunday get 2 newspapers.

Clip all coupons even if you do not use that product.

Pull out your store of choices weekly paper.

Match up the best sales with your coupon.

Write down everything else you need. (Stick to the list so you don't overspend)

Uncle Dick

Remembering Uncle Dick. I consider myself a very family oriented person, along with that although many do not see this side of me, ok NO ONE sees this side of me except my immediate family I am also the single most sensitive person you will ever meet (although you would not know this). With all that being said, It was very hard for me to deal with the tragedy of loosing my Uncle. I have known a handful of people that have passed away, one being a dear friend in high school, the other 2 being a great aunt and uncle. But, this was the first time I actually knew this person and dealt with the loss on a closer scale. My Uncle was a very kind person, someone who was very helpful and always lit up the room. He was the oldest of 5 Children, and has taken most of the responsibility of taken care of my Grandmother since her husband died in the 1960's. We will all miss him dearly and we had a great time remembering him. Some quick facts about him, he loved Krispy Kreme, and the Ravens were his favorite team, he always tried to tell me jokes as a child, the top of his casket was painted purple for the Ravens I am sure he is watching this season in Heaven. I was thankful to make it to my family for those 3 days to spend time with them. This was the first time I realized life is so short, but sweet. It made me appreciate everyone alot more, and miss them much more as well. I encourage you to think about those you love and tell them.

New Lesson

I rarely post a blog like this but I was so humbled I felt like God was calling me to share. In the past couple of weeks Darrell and I came into a small amount of money. If you know Darrell and I at all then you know we live on a small budget and allot it all out monthly and try to follow the Dave Ramsey budget plan that we learned in a class we took at our church. Ever since we received this money we have been at odds with each other trying to come to a agreement on how to spend it. We could not agree for the life of us, and when we finally did agree things did not pan out the way we had planned. It is so funny how we all think that if I just get this one more thing we will be happy, or if we just made a little bit more $ we would be in such a better position, but that's not true at all it is always going to be one more thing.

Now how God spoke to me. Darrell and I were in church this morning at the North Charleston DreamCenter. At the end of Pastor Sammy's message these 2 men got up and were exiting out the back and Darrell and myself were sitting beside the tithe box, the men obviously were homeless and they dropped their change in the box. My heart told me this was a portion of the small amount he had earned during the week. It put me in my place more than anything ever before. God said to me in this moment this person who has nothing gives so much, and you are being so selfish and you have so much, blessed more than many people. I was so thankful in that moment, not because I was outed as a stingy person, but because God shared with me a very important message that I struggle with.

God is so good, and we are all so blessed, and thankful. I said to Darrell as we left "Lord knows I never want to be win the lottery, I am happy just like this."

One Year Anniversary

I cant believe One Year since we tied the knot has almost passed. Wow, it has gone by so fast! So much has changed in this past year, we have traveled more, met our hero's Mickey and Minnie, adopted the 3rd love of our lives Truman (The first being God, the 2nd being each other) We have bought a new home, planned out our future, and learned so much about one another. Every marriage is different, everyone shares different feelings and ties with their spouse, some are based on pure passion, others based on common interest. Darrell and I's relationship is based on being BEST FRIENDS. We are always together and rarely get on one an others nerves, we don't go anywhere without each other and I can honestly say I don't think we could even separate for an entire weekend. People say these types of things go away but I am hoping they never do, we share a very strong bond and I am so very lucky to have found someone so special that I love more than myself. Over this next year we have set plans and goals but I am sure if it is to be anything like this first year it will have plenty of surprises held in store for us.

Also, we are planning a small weekend for our one year if anyone has any suggestions?

New Casa

Hey all. I haven't been so great about updating lately. Not that I don't like to blog but just that life has been rather busy here. Darrell and I recently brought a brand new home. Our first home, it is all very exciting. Word to the wise now is the time to buy, not only do you get the stimulus incentive but the rates are so low. We feel very fortunate to be this young and own our own home. We have settled in rather nicely. We have spent our spare time painting, and making tiny adjustments and personal touches to our place. Truman unfortunately has not settled in so well. He has made our lives a little difficult over the past two week. I honestly don't see how people move with children it is hard enough to move with one crazy dog. My camera died on me at the hair show so as soon as we get that up and running again I will add pics to what we have changed so far. Here are some pics of the house brand new just built. Keep us in your prayers that God fills this home with love joy, a little girl and little boy :)

Every day to and from work I tune into NPR, National Public Radio, for an update on what going on in the world. The usual stories are ones of tragedy, financial woes, and more trouble. It can sometimes be a difficult and depressing start to my morning. I think it's important to stay informed, but there comes a time when I must simply turn the station.

There was however a great story on a different kind of news. An online news organization, offers nothing but good news. Nothing depressing, tragic, devastating can be found here. Cinderella day was held last weekend March, 7Th 2009 at the Dream Center. It was a awesome opportunity for young women to come get dresses for the prom. I was so blessed to be apart of this ministry there were over 1,000 dresses donated. To see peoples generosity even in these tough economic times always humbles me to the core. There are still great dresses left we will be taking them into the high schools and distributing them who couldn't make it to the Dream Center that day. YOUNG FREE COMPETITION

I (Darrell) have entered a competition with South Carolina Federal Credit Union. The other competitors are amazing. They all have various skills and talents that they have brought to the table. But I am confident that I am the most well rounded for the job. I started my goal to financial success when I was 15 and started my own business along with my brothers. I also have the video editing experience. I have been doing editing since 9th grade. I was a newscaster with Wando High School's "Tribe Talk" video production program during my 10th, 11th, and 12th grade years. I was also directing the video production team at my church's student ministries department. I enjoying being in front of the camera just as much as being behind the scenes. I graduated at the top of my class in high school as well as college. I completed my B.A. degree from Charleston Southern University in only 3 short years. I also have the experience of speaking in front of large groups of people at conferences, retreats, and other events. I am well established in the community and have a very large network of awesome friends. I already have a family and so I feel as though I am very mature financially at my age and can mentor others around my age range who are completing college and wanting to start their future.

It was also Mardi Gras so we got to see some great parades and concerts.

Hey All,

We have tons going on with the Brace Family. Something that was very exciting though was this past week we were able to visit Orlando, Florida. We have been wanting to go forever and the opportunity finally opened itself up. We seriously had the best time. We visited both of Universals Parks and all 4 of Disney Worlds Parks. It was also ESPN weekend which was awesome we were able to see lots of players, and be on Sport Center (well in the crowd) you have to start somewhere ;) My, (Ashley) favorite ride was the American Idol Experience at Hollywood Studios. Darrell's was Spiderman Ride at Islands of Adventure. We also got to see NE-YO in concert. We had such a great time and can not wait to go back next time, we would like to go to the Holyland and Seaworld. Also, I hate to report we have started a Brace Family Tradition which is not so great we always seem to gamble away our $ on these trips. This time we lost it by playing BINGO at our resort with 60 other elderly vacationers and out of the 7 rounds we played we got nothing but a empty wallet, we lost a total of $18 smackers! Well we hope you can all end up that way soon its a great time for all.

For the past several weeks, I have been taking Improv classes from an improv theatre in Downtown Charleston. It has been a safe haven for me to become whoever I desire to be and to live out dreams for just a few moments. It has been a great experience, but now as I look ahead to our final rehearsal, I reflect upon what acting has meant to me.

Drama has always intrigued me. All my life I've been interested in being someone I'm not. Whether it's a spy tasked with a difficult mission or a crazy sports broadcaster, I have gotten through some pretty boring and mundane events in my life by acting or envisioning a reality that isn't there.

That is the joy of acting. Making the most out of anything. I believe we all act to some degree in our lives. We may not all be broadway stars, but we all daydream and break away from reality in one way or another. For some our acting ability is summed up in a drink, getting wasted to run away from what's hurting. For others our performance is the lies we share to make reality appear better than it actually is.

I ask myself questions everyday about how my actions or my words reflect who I am. Whether I really do portray to others my true self. If my acting is of good character and integrity. It is this reflection and constant reviewing that makes me who I am.

The month of love is upon us. We are happily married and best friends. This is our 5th Valentines day but our 1st one married! They just keep getting better! We have had a great month. I (Ashley) am seeing alot of growth in my job which I love. We are going on a vacation this month with my(Ashley) parents and younger brothers. Darrell has never been to Orlando and his mom informed me that it was always his dream to go. So, all of our dreams will come true next weekend ;) A couple of weeks ago, I was noticing alot of spiritual warfare going on with some of my friends, my work, our finances and was really struggling with that. But, I know it was because Darrell and I are trying to work our way further and further into Gods will. We celebrated Valentines day by I gave Darrell a facial at my work (he really liked it) and then we went to dinner at Fonduley Yours it was awesome!

On a negative note. Truman got a infection on his back. I swear our pup is accident prone. We had to take him to the vet and they shaved off a block on his back. I was telling my friends Truman is apparently not aware of the family budget with all his fiasco's. He is doing fine just looks a little freaky! He is very happy though bc this weekend his friend Maggie is staying with us and he loves playing with her.

The Walk From Hell

So, I usually do not write posts like this but after this morning I have to share this. Please excuse my language at anytime I'm just telling what really happened!

This morning I decided that I am really going to start working on my new years resolutions. I have quite the list but the main one was to start working out again after taking a break for 7 months after our wedding. So, Truman and I started on a walk about 6 blocks around our neighborhood. Although I usually I do not take walks by myself without my husband just because there is some rough spots around where we live; This morning I was feeling rather ambitious! As Truman and I just started walking I became slightly annoyed. One, of my biggest pest peeves is when people just have outside dogs that constantly bark (I am sorry if this is offending any of you my loyal readers and friends, It just annoys me!) Well of course my angel of a pup is trained not to bark so he cant stand when these other peasants bark at him! OK the real truth here is he cries :) Haha, its pretty darn funny but we love him. Anyhow this isn't really the real story as we turned the next corner all of a sudden I hear this really aggressive loud continuous bark that sounds like its getting closer. I turn my head and It is the biggest Rottweiler I have ever seen in my life, I seriously think he was bigger than me ( that's not saying much) but he was jumping over this 6 feet tall fence to get at my less aggressive pit bull terrier Truman. As some of you also may or may not know I am actually very afraid of animals when I was in the 6th grade I was attacked by a stray Husky in the woods at a friends house. So, ever since then I have been deathly afraid of dogs until we got Truman. So seeing this Rottweiler jumping over the fence was like seeing my life flash before my eyes all over again. I didn't know whether I should protect Truman or save myself. Also, you may not know that I don't run very often haven't really ran since high school soccer. But, as my life was flashing before my eyes I screamed "Damn you Truman, RUN!!!!!" I never ran so fast in my life Truman kept turning around and trying to jump on me. But I realized if its going to be between you and me, its going to be me, sorry pup. In that short amount of time I planned how we could escape this beast. There was a cable guy fixing a line to my right with his door open I figured we could jump in his van and shut the door, or to my left was another fenced in yard I could jump over the fence, not sure if I could get my big behind over it but some way some how i was not going to be mangled to death but this dog. It felt like I had been running for eternity as i turned onto the next street, I heard someone yell at the dog and as I turned around he vanished. At this point I was sweating so bad I thought I would passed out. We still had about 3 more blocks to walk until we got home I figured nothing else could go wrong, a little did nothing nearly as dramatic as my life flashing before my eyes but I had some freak call me pretty which I know may be true but this guy was very questionable, and we had about 24 other loud dogs bark at us on our short walk home. Needless to say I will never take a walk again without my husband or down that street again with the terrifying Rottweiler.

Merry Christmas my fellow friends. I feel so blessed beyond belief to have had such a great year. There are ups and downs in life but I am looking towards the positive of 2008. We (The Brace's) have had such a eventful year. From Getting married, graduating college, adding our first additional family member Truman, being blessed with another niece and so much more. We are so blessed that we were able to share these experiences with you all. We are looking forward to 2009 and what GOD has in store for us. This year on Christmas we celebrated the morning alone together we opened up gifts and cooked and played with Truman. Then in the afternoon Darrell's family came over to our home and we shared a lunch together and exchanged gifts with our secret Santa's. In the evening time we headed to my Aunt's house and The Nelson side of my family celebrated there. We had a great Christmas, Darrell's best gift was his Hockey hat that he has not taken off since Christmas day! My best gift was my book that Darrell made me it was awesome and so very special. We pray and have great faith that all of you had a merry merry Christmas as well :)

On Saturday December 13Th, Darrell graduated from Charleston Southern University. With A major in Youth Ministry and History. He finished as a Cum Laude with a 3.8 GPA. We had a great time celebrating with all of our friends and family at a party at our house. Although it was packed it was so much fun to hang out with everyone and celebrate our successes. Darrell is going to take this Spring Semester off and then start Grad school in the fall. Thank you so much everyone for all your love and your support.

Turkey Day

We celebrated our very first Thanksgiving as a married couple and it was awesome. First we celebrated by going to our church and volunteering to hand out meals to people in our neighborhood of North Charleston. By the time everything was said and done we supplied 3,000 meals to those who need them. It was such a awesome experience. Then we headed off to be with Darrell's Family and have a Thanksgiving lunch, we had a great time socializing and eating everything, Kristen Darrell's sis is a great cook and always makes the most awesome food. Then we headed down to Short Stay in Monks Corner to be with my family we had a great time there were lots of people there and it was crazy and fun! Lastly, you would think we would be tired after waking up at 5 to start cooking but oh no! We went and saw TWILIGHT which was AMAZING! I think Darrell & I are both obsessed with Edward Cullen! We are looking foreword to the festivities the Christmas Season brings!

Traditions for The Holiday Season

I love this time of year. Although one thing I truly miss is the change of seasons. Holidays feel so much more real when the weather coincides with the way you picture that Holiday to be. In my hometown (Ashley) there are certain things we do on certain Holidays such as The day after Thanksgiving our BIG TOWN parade. I was in the parade practically every year for something or other. But, here in Charleston we have The James Island Light festival to go to which has become sort of a holiday tradition for us. Also I have talked Darrell into fighting the madness and joining in all the craziness of Black Friday. I am so excited I finally talked him into it. This is going to be awesome. I have a feeling he will be complaining like crazy! :) I love Holiday Traditions and am very blessed to be starting our own family traditions this year it is rather exciting! So, basically this post is all about how much I love the fair. In my hometown we have a county fair every year which last 5 days but it is nothing like the fair here in Charleston. I am kind of wimp, I will not ride any of the rides at the fair it just freaks me out the rides being put up and then next day hundreds of people riding them. Oh No we wont go that far. Darrell and I met up with our friends Nicole and Bruin to go to the Coastal Carolina Fair and we had a blast. I mean it was pretty much all about the food. Which is great, who can beat fair food?

Fall is certainly here. I love when Fall comes, although here in South Carolina we usually don't experience the full effects of all the seasons, we still have some of the fun festivities. Darrell and I started off our 2008 fall experience by dressing up for Halloween. Darrell was Shaggy and I was Velma. We had the best time hanging out with our friends. You can check out my facebook for more photos. The following day we celebrated Fall by going to the fair. I grew up with a county fair but it was much smaller than the fair here in Charleston. We enjoyed seeing the worlds largest pig which was cool. We met up with our friends the Robinson's and enjoyed the fairs awesome foods! We will continue to celebrate fall and very much looking foreword towards Thanksgiving.

This weekend was CRAZY. Super busy & fun! Friday I went to a "Sex in the city" Party/ Missy's 20 something + 1 birthday party had a super fun time and always enjoyed the movie! Its great to just hang out with the girls sometimes. Darrell had his bros over to watch Hockey game! What fun the season has started :( Sarcasm anyone?

Saturday we were off to Birmingham, Alabama this was the first time that i can actually remember for Ashley going to a different time zone pretty cool! That was for the rest of the weekend for a hair show. It was a great time and I got to meet alot of really cool artist and learn some new great things. On the way there we stopped at IKEA (one of my fav stores) to purchase some new decor for the SSM room in the new building of our church which opens in 3 weeks!!! EXCITING! Its even more fun shopping when its not your money :) Also, great news following that Darrell and George have been name the new directors for the middle and high school students. We know GOD will bless that ministry!

Well were off to start another week, I graduate from school this coming Thursday (YAY) so we are very excited about that and praying for GODS perfect placement with a job! Until next time, Ashley :)

Charlotte Weekend

So this past weekend we ventured back to my hometown Concord, NC. I grew up about 30 minutes outside of Charlotte. While we were there we visited with some friends and went to a hair show for my school. I graduate in about 3 weeks so this show really taught me some awesome techniques and really got me pumped for getting ready to head into a salon. I am not sure where I am going to be working yet but will hopefully find the best place for me in the next couple weeks. This was also the first time we left our dog with someone we were a little worried not about the great pet sitters The Braces wouldnt do the best job, just worried Truman wouldnt be on his best behavior but he did fine. Thanks again Kristen for taking such great care of him and wearing him out he slept all night monday. Well friends keep me in your prayers that GOD leads me to the best place for me.

So last Sunday we had the chance to have a play day with our best little buddy our nephew Isaac we are so lucky to have 2 nieces but only 1 nephew! He is always a blast. First, he took a nap which was superb then we had a snack together and he said so many silly things to us it was too funny! Then we went to the park and played Isaac liked going down the slides and Aunt Ash pushing him on the swing, he also enjoyed playing with our new best friend Truman Banks. Then we came back home and all watched a Thomas DVD. Unfortunately after that it was time to take the little guy home! But, we had a blast and he has continued to be a great new big brother to his new baby sister!!! :) So happy for them I know there having the best time!

Welcome our newest addition to the Brace Family. His name is Truman Banks Brace. Yes, we named him after the movie 8 below. (Best Disney movie of all time) He is a 10 week old American Pitt bull terrier and we rescued him from the SPCA he is the sweetest thing ever. We encourage anybody who is interested in getting a dog to adopt they have plenty of puppies that really need a good home or they could get put down. Right now at the N. Charleston SPCA they have over 400 animals.

So this weekend we had the rare opportunity to have all of our oldest friends from college over to our new home. We had a blast. It is very few and far between that we all have that chance to get together. It mostly went down the boys being very random and sketch in the office watching you tube videos which never ceases to amaze me and then us girls just chatting it up. We love all of our friends and miss them dearly and wish we could spend more time together but life is busy and time is precious. We hope everyone is doing well. We have been so busy, Darrell is on call now at his job and is working very long hours. He starts back school next week (which he is very excited about he loves school :) ) I am so busy with school right now also, I am trying to finish as soon as possible. I am so excited to find the perfect salon, and then hopefully start a internship my goal is to work on sets. I am also having no free time because I have swim lessons I am still teaching as well!

Darrell and I are loving the married life and having fun being together all the time. Were such best friends :) We are also planning a trip hopefully in december for our graduations but we have no idea where yet! Well many blessings to everyone we hope to see yall soon.

On August 3rd, 2008 we had the chance to celebrate with 2 of our close friends for their wedding. I always feel like there is a wedding going on that one of us are in. :) This time it was Darrell's turn for his friend Mike from growing up, and also from working at seacoast church together. It was so much fun, we had a great time and got the chance to see lots of friends. The guys tuxs were great the perfect colors and (affordable) which was very nice! Everything was decorated very cute and went perfectly, They are so happy together and make a great couple. We are so happy for them and there future.

This past weekend we had a great time. We went to Myrtle Beach with our brother Warren and his friend from Army Wives (where they work) Michelle. We did so much in only 2 days. We went to Medival times everyone should go here once great food (and Darrell and I totally wanted to be Knights afterwards)! Then mini-golf. We stayed at the KOA in a funny little cabin. We went to the "strip" which made me remember all those crazy times I had with my friends growing up...and also made me feel really old at the same time. Alot of the nightclubs and stuff we went to are now shut down or turned into other things. We also went to Myrtle Waves which was a blast and I of course wasnt as daring as my fellow riders. It was such a great time had by all. Warren and Michelle are a blast to hang with. One very important thing we have learned as newlyweds is we DO NOT get along driving in a car. We are like perfect pals at all time but as soon as we get behind that wheel the claws are full out and my blood pressure rises. Haha atleast it has only taken us a month to learn this :) Until next time!

Well...now that we are back I will try and be more prompt with my blogging. We had such a great time on our honeymoon. We went all over, to the keys, miami, ft. lauderdale and daytona. It was so fun to see all these new places. We scuba'ed well kinda haha Darrell saw some fishes in the keys with the pair of fliipin googles we had to pay $22 dollars for. We took a airboat tour of the Everglades, We went to the Southern Most Point in the US. We went to the largest outlet mall which was awesome and saw many of beaches! It was great, a fun time had by all...

Whats new for us? Well the wedding is only 3 weekends away! Wow we are happy to say we are not to busy with last minute preps, we are just busy with school and work. We are so excited to move to the next step in our life. And, very happy to leave the old stage behind. The picture above is at a going away party for our 2 friends Robert and April. They are moving to Australia, Darrell and Robbie have been best friends forever and went to school and worked together at seacoast. April his wife and myself met in college at CSU. We were sad to see them leave but happy for their next phase in life. This next week is exciting. We will start actually finishing wedding stuff and I have a shower thrown by my best friend from growing up. Also, I will be having a shower for my sister-in-law for her sweet baby girl on the way! Ashley here reporting on our fun quick trip to Concord. I am actually from Harrisburg, NC which is even a smaller town with nothing in it but I normally just tell people Concord and when they say never heard of it I say Charlotte, which hopefully they have heard of. It was great to see old friends and see my town! BOY, more stuff pops up every single time I go back. I have 3 best friends who still live in town and several other really great friends that reside there still as well. It was great for Darrell to meet everyone that he still hasnt met and see how country I really am. He said he liked it there but was shocked how far we drive to get from place to place. Well only 2 months, until the BIG DAY! Woo so much to do. I'm so excited. I thought I would share some of the details to get feedback and feel free to throw any ideas. Were doing a seersucker, and blue and brown polka-dots. Also there will be tons of Daisy yay I love them. Its going to be held in Mt. Pleasant, SC at the ION creek club right on the water. The wedding will run from 2pm til abou 5:30; I didnt want a very long reception. Kids are welcome. We are so excited to finally start our life together as 1. Thanks for all your love and support :)

Busy Worlds

We are in the home stretch with everything right now. We have both been so busy. In a month Darrell will offically be done with his full-time classes at CSU (WOO WOO) Also, hopefully in those few short weeks he will land a job. He has had some great interviews and offers we are praying that GOD leads us to the perfect spot for us. Also, less than 3 months until were married. I cant wait mostly looking forward to meeting Donald Duck Love that guy!!! We have decided to go to disney world :) I am winding down my hours and will graduate at the beginning of OCTOBER can not wait. I love learning more and more and hopefully all of you friends will become my clients :)

This year Darrell and I celebrated by going out on actual Valentines, we have never been able to do this in the 4 Valentines days we have spent together beacause he always had church stuff. It made it extra special to see others celebrating the romantic holiday as well. We went to eat at Waters Edge resturant which is special to us beacause thats where we went the night we got engaged. Then we went to see Fools Gold ( which i would absolutley recomend ). Overall, It was such a great night.

We are so blessed that we have a amazing group of friends from church to relate to. The picture above is majority of the small group. Minus The Whichards & The Delletts. The picture was taken at Steph and my bday party were bday twins, ok well actually I am a day older but Im not trying to brag or anything. Not only do we have the blessings of a small group every friday, but also so many people in the church are there for us and bless us tremendolusly.

Perfect example. Darrell was without a car for a long while. He has to drive 25 miles to school everyday and 25 miles back. Not a easy thing without a car, we let all of our friends know and he was blessed with over a $1000.00. How amazing. Now he has a great reliable 98 VW JETTA YAY!!!!

Sorry...we are so bad at updating this thing. I think I am just computer illiterate. The first post Darrell and I did it took us about 3 hours beacuse we couldnt figure out what we were doing wrong!

Right now, I am going to school and Loving it. I will graduate October, 14 of this year. Then I will be looking for a salon to work at until we have enough $ saved up for me to open my own :) Darrell graduates May of this year and is currently looking for a position in the ministry. We are getting married June 28th this summer. We had postponed our wedding from last summer but it was the wisest and hardest descion of my life and I know God is blessing that now. We are hoping to be able to buy our own hope by next January, and hopefully a fixer-upper beacuse we love doing that kind of thing. Our favorite show is flip-that-house! We dont know where to go on our honeymoon and taking suggestions. (CHEAP ONES)

Merry Christmas to everyone! We hope everyone had a Blessed Christmas Holiday Celebrating the Glory of GOD and the birth of CHRIST. We had a great time. Darrell got the planet earth dvd's and giftcards. And Ashley received awesome gift cards and a new North Face.

We are excited about 2008. This year 2007 was difficult and we are looking forward to the exciting things to come.
